American Crime will shuffle actors into different roles, just like American Horror Story
Apparently the name and anthology structure aren’t the only things ABC’s American Crime likes about FX’s American Horror Story: According to The Wrap, John Ridley’s crime drama will be shuffling the same actors in new roles for its next season, much like how American Horror Story refuses to let Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters escape its spooky clutches. The first season of American Crime features Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, Benito Martinez, and Penelope Ann Miller, but ABC’s Paul Lee only says that “some of the iconic actors” will come back and “play different roles in the second season.”
That means we don’t specifically know who is coming back, or whether or not Crime will continue cribbing from Horror Story by giving some of the returning actors multiple heads, or by turning them into Frankensteins, or by making them into witches who live in a swamp and are obsessed with Stevie Nicks. Also, as confusing as all of this is, it’s going to get even worse when FX’s own American Crime Story premieres next year.
