David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo rounds out its cast
Casting announcements for David Fincher's Hollywood-adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, slated for a December 2011 release, have garnered a lot of attention, and thankfully the latest comes in a batch. Fincher chatted with Swedish paper SvD a few days ago and announced three new actors onboard for the project, currently shooting in Sweden. It's already known that Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig will play the leads, but Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck, The Tudors), Steven Berkoff (The Tourist), and Swede David Dencik were named in the article with parts unidentified. The Playlist, though, speculates that Richardson will be Cecilia Vanger—the apple of journalist Mikael Blomkvist's eye—and Berkoff might play the creepo guardian to protagonist Lisbeth Salander. Denick is a wildcard, though he did hold a minor role in the original film as Janne Dahlman, coworker of Blomkvist.
Given how closely people have been watching this project (including bogus reports of injuries on set), expect much chatter, and perhaps a few more leaked videos of Mara riding a motorcycle:
