Let’s overanalyze these brief glimpses of Game Of Thrones season 7
Apparently, there was more to last night’s Westworld than confirming a handful of fan theories. HBO also took the opportunity to premiere a new “Coming In 2017” trailer that featured a few glimpses of Game Of Thrones’ upcoming seventh season. New Game Of Thrones stuff is always a big deal, but considering that the show is going to end after season eight, any clues that HBO offers are going to be even more important than ever. Also, while some people may already know everything that’s going to happen in this coming season thanks to that big leak, speculation will still be fun for anyone out there who has managed to avoid the siren song of spoilers.
So, let’s take a look at these brief shots from Game Of Thrones and make wild predictions about what they mean. First up is Jon Snow, dramatically turning his head to look at someone. The exposed wood behind him appears to be Winterfell-esque, so he’s probably still hanging around the ol’ homestead after taking it back from Ramsay Bolton last season. As for who he’s dramatically looking at, we’d say it’s either one of his trusted friends, a random Northerner providing some exposition, or the reanimated corpse of Ned Stark.
Here’s Sansa walking away from what looks like one of those Weirwood trees, which means she’s probably also in Winterfell. She’d probably be acting differently if she were looking at the reanimated corpse of Ned Stark, so we’re going to guess she’s simply looking in the direction of wherever she’s going. That may sound boring, but maybe she’s just done a bit of soul searching and is now prepared to cut some jerk’s throat.
Finally, we have Arya Stark. She’s riding a horse, so at least we can guess that she’s not at Winterfell. However, she seems to be dressed for cold weather and has a serious look on her face, so there’s a good chance she’s looking at Winterfell.
There isn’t anything extremely exciting or unexpected happening in these brief shots, but that doesn’t actually tell us any information about the season. After Jon Snow’s death and resurrection, HBO and the Game Of Thrones people have established that they’re wildly untrustworthy, so maybe these glimpses won’t be in the final season at all. Or maybe something crazy and shocking is happening just off-screen. Either way, we’ll know for sure when the new season premieres in 2017.
