Los Angeles district attorney launches Hollywood harassment task force
With so many big-name people in Hollywood facing allegations of sexual harassment and abuse, the LAPD has been taking on a number of investigations into specific figures like Harvey Weinstein and Ed Westwick, as well as more general targets like the secret ring of pedophiles that Corey Feldman has discussed in the past. Now, to facilitate those sorts of investigations, Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey has announced that she’s putting together a task force of “specially trained deputy district attorneys” who will be ready to take on any criminal cases that come through her office. She adds that her “group of veteran sex crimes prosecutors” will take a “uniformed approach to the legal review and possible prosecution of any case that meets both the legal and factual standards for criminal prosecution.”
