Los Angeles is getting its very own La La Land concert
La La Land may not have won the Best Picture Oscar that it seemed destined to take home, but the city of Los Angeles is still going to celebrate the film and its many contributions to L.A.-inspired nostalgia with a big concert event at the Hollywood Bowl. According to The Hollywood Reporter, composer Justin Hurwitz will be conducting a 100-piece symphony orchestra, choir, and jazz ensemble as they perform the music of La La Land alongside “original vocal recordings” from Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. There will also be “pre-show photo opportunities and a grand fireworks spectacular,” and attendees are “encouraged” to wear “vintage Hollywood-inspired” outfits. Basically, if you didn’t like La La Land already, this event would be your nightmare.
La La Land In Concert: A Live-To-Film Celebration will make its debut at the Hollywood Bowl on May 26 and 27, and there will be similar events later this year in Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, San Antonio, Dallas, Indainapolis, Nashville, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Washington D.C., and Denver.
