Tigers Jaw springs back to life with “Slow Come On”

When three-fifths of Tigers Jaw quit in March 2013 it seemed as if Scranton’s darlings were heading toward an untimely end. Instead of calling it a day, founding members Brianna Collins and Ben Walsh re-grouped, and though some of its departed comrades are present on Charmer, the band’s fourth full-length proves it’s weathering the changes well. Charmer swims in hooks, and “Slow Come On” is no exception. Rollicking drum rolls give way to chugging melodies, displaying that any turmoil experienced in the past year is only fodder for Collins and Walsh to make each track hit that much harder.

The A.V. Club is premiering “Slow Come On” below, and pre-orders for Charmer can be found on Run For Cover Records’ site. This summer Tigers Jaw will be heading out on a headlining tour with Pity Sex and Petal, after which it’ll immediately join Touché Amoré and Dads for another few weeks on the road.
