His story: Darren Cross, who only appears in the film Ant-Man, was a brilliant scientist out of MIT at age 20 when he was recruited by Hank Pym to work at Pym Technologies. However, Cross eventually forced Pym out and took over, renaming it Cross Technologies and developing weapons-grade tech. Cross was obsessed with Pym’s Ant-Man technology and eventually figured out how to use it, developing the Yellowjacket. Unfortunately, Cross learned of the plan Pym hatched to steal the Yellowjacket suit, and instead captured Scott Lang during the attempted project. But charges placed in Cross Technologies detonated, destroying the building—and with it, Cross’ deal to sell the tech to Hydra. Furious, he donned the suit and fought Lang, but was killed when Lang damaged the Yellowjacket’s internal mainframe, shrinking it and crushing Cross.
