One of my favorite things about celebrity magazines, aside from the asinine ads, fluffy interviews, and screaming photo captions, are the pull-quotes. More than anything else, the right pull-quote on a photograph can change the whole mood of the page. Take, for example, this page from In Style (via PopBytes). What was, at first glance, a picture of a young starlet breezing downhill on a bicycle, can, with the right pull-quote, become a campaign poster.
You can almost see her mentally writing government policy as she determinedly steers her bike (and our nation) on the right course. Either that, or she's trying really hard not to fall off before the photographer gets the shot.
