Kurt Cobain: Lord Of The Dance?
NME (via The Seattle Times) has a brief article on Nevermind, the new dance production set to premiere this weekend at Seattle's Moore Theater, featuring choreographed interpretations of the seminal Nirvana album. Though the plot is only loosely based on his life, two dancers are clearly stand-ins for Cobain and Courtney Love, whose interactions choreographer Donald Byrd describes thusly:
"It's like sometimes when you're watching Romeo and Juliet, you think, if they had just waited. You want to say, hold on, everything changes. Even if it seems unbearable, it's going to change."
Oh my God, they are so totally Romeo and Juliet!
Byrd also hints that the the show contains some of the "club dance styles of the L.A. punk era." Whatever that means.
