Radiohead giving free newspaper to anybody who wants one
Radiohead’s obsession with old dead trees continues, as the band has announced that it will commemorate the March 28 UK and March 29 North America release of its album with yet another increasingly antiquated medium, giving away a newspaper called The Universal Sigh to anyone who wants one. According to an announcement on the group’s website, the paper will be available at “all good record stores,” apparently with no purchase necessary, until copies run out. (You can see a list of locations and times here at the paper’s newly launched official web space.) Just to be clear, this newspaper is not the one that comes with the special “Newspaper Edition” being released on May 9, but rather its own completely separate publication, with its own articles and headlines and, hopefully, a “Thom’s Thoughts” column, where Thom Yorke muses about life’s funny foibles.
