Making his first transition to non-teddy-bear movie roles, Seth MacFarlane stars in, directs, produces, and co-writes A Million Ways To Die In The West, about America’s wild frontier and all the many opportunities it held for people to get killed horribly. For MacFarlane’s violence-averse sheep farmer, death most likely takes the form of Liam Neeson, who rides into town seeking Liam Neeson-like revenge after his wife, Charlize Theron, is seemingly taken by MacFarlane’s charms. But as MacFarlane elucidates across this nearly three-minute NSFW trailer for the May 30 film, there are so many other terrible ways he or co-stars Giovanni Ribisi, Amanda Seyfried, and Sarah Silverman could punch their ticket. Fortunately for MacFarlane, “talking anachronistically” doesn’t appear to be one of them.
