Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse has been stopped, possibly by robots

Though it was all systems go crazy for its slated 2014 release—even drafting Anne Hathaway and Chris Hemsworth to starThe Hollywood Reporter reports that Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse has been put on sudden, indefinite hiatus, casting in doubt the future of the Daniel H. Wilson adaptation as well as our readiness for the robot apocalypse. Spielberg spokesman Marvin Levy agrees that the project is simply “too important,” what with its timely warning for the future of all humanity, yet “the script is not ready and it’s too expensive to produce.” But, really, what price can one put on protecting life from looming electrical doom? Levy insists that Robopocalypse will go “back to the drawing board to see what is possible,” though the clear implication here is that this is all just a cover story for the cold mechanical calculations of their Fox robot overlords. They already got to Steven Spielberg. None of us is safe.
