Watching two hours of TV a day will kill you, say stupid jerk scientists

According to a recent study in the Journal Of The American Medical Association, watching just two hours of television a day increases your risk of heart disease by 15 percent, your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 20 percent, and your risk of premature death by 13 percent. That’s just one episode of The Celebrity Apprentice; hope it was worth it. Although, the killjoy researchers who released the study while making subtle tsk-ing sounds say that most of those results are due to the usual side effects of watching television—namely sitting on your ass and snacking, both of which contribute to obesity. So really, it’s not watching television that’s at fault here. It’s the behaviors you engage in while you’re doing it, so cut those out and maybe consider jogging in place instead. Of course, between those other recent studies that say sitting kills you and talking on your cell phone gives you cancer, it will be a miracle if you don’t drop dead in the next 30 seconds.
