We accidentally premiered the trailer for Howl, starring James Franco as Allen Ginsberg
You may have noticed that we've quietly been building up our heretofore sorta-slim trailer section, Coming Distractions, over the past month or so. We're hoping it'll become your one-stop shop for watching previews of film, TV shows, and even videogames. To that end, we've been populating the section like crazy. (You should check it out.) This morning, our intern Danny accidentally grabbed a trailer for Howl, the upcoming Allen Ginsberg biopic starring James Franco, and posted it before it was supposed to be released to the world. Very mild panic ensued, and Oscilloscope, the film's distributor, eventually just said, "Eh, go ahead and post it, and tell the world." So you can find it over here. I'm ashamed to say this was the first I'd heard of Howl, but it looks rock solid from the trailer: Franco is joined by David Straithairn and Jon Hamm—a.k.a. guys who look like they're straight out of the '50s anyway. The movie is due for limited release on September 24.
