With “Food,” Sneeze shows that its sound hasn’t gone stale
Boston’s Sneeze has been relatively quiet since it released Wilt in 2014, but it appears the trio wasn’t just wasting time in the interim. Today brings the announcement of its new, six-song EP Rot on Glory Kid Records, as well as the first song from that EP, “Food.” The A.V. Club is streaming “Food,” which shows that Sneeze used those couple years to take its sounds to the next level. While the trio doesn’t entirely abandon its grunge roots, it’s now sounds like J. Mascis doing his best take on accessible sludge riffs. If anything, “Food” shows that Sneeze certainly isn’t going to let its sound go stale.
Pre-orders for Rot are available now through Glory Kid Records.
