Bad job market continues to boom as NBC develops Bad Judge
Rapidly approaching a newer, more streamlined era when comedy can be created by simple adding “bad” to nominally decent professions, NBC is considering the pilot Bad Judge to go up against CBS’ Bad Teacher. The sitcom from producers Anne Heche, Will Ferrell, and Adam McKay would find former Private Practice star Kate Walsh playing the naughty justice [<—— better title], who’s notorious for handling out disproportionately harsh penalties for first-time offenders and allowing personal prejudice to influence her decisions. But also, and different enough from normal judges to warrant a TV show, she’s a “a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman” (as opposed to the sort of woman who’s constantly apologizing during sex), she “plays with the law,” and lives a “life on the edge”—all of which is humorously ironic, because she’s supposed to be judging the people who do that.
