After the high-concept Seinfeld reunion of season seven, the upcoming eighth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm gets back to basics—namely, Larry David standing up for the moral certitude of things like not taking up too many parking spaces, picking up after your dog, and not going “upstream” to steal a cab from someone. The difference is he’s doing many of these things in New York, but luckily that doesn’t mean his relocation will completely rob him of interactions with regulars like Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, Bob Einstein’s Marty Funkhouser, or J.B. Smoove’s Leon. This preview also offers a hint of some of the non-Ricky Gervais guest stars that will be dropping by, including Paul F. Tompkins, Michael J. Fox, Ana Gasteyer, Mad Men’s Rich Sommer, and Robert Smigel. (Conspicuously absent: Cheryl Hines.)
