Fucked Up guitarist Young Guv is “Ripe 4 Luv”

Fans of Fucked Up might like Young Guv, a new power-pop effort from the group’s guitarist, Ben Cook. His new record is out now on Slumberland, and The A.V. Club is premiering the video for the record’s title track below. The clip for “Ripe 4 Luv” features London-based boxers training for next year’s Summer Olympics in Rio. Shot in black and white, it’s both mesmerizing and muscle-bound, and the Cyndi Lauper-like vocals that Young Guv lays down over the images make for a perfectly disconcerting soundtrack.
