Marvel's Daredevil and Jessica Jones shows have found their writers
After it was announced that Netflix was partnering with Marvel on several new shows based around its characters, talk immediately turned to who would write them. Just kidding; talk immediately turned to who would play them, followed by more dumping on Ben Affleck. But now Marvel has addressed at least the second or third fan concern by naming Drew Goddard and Melissa Rosenberg as the writers behind its Daredevil and Jessica Jones series, respectively. For Goddard—whose TV credits include Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alias, and Lost, as well as the films Cloverfield and The Cabin In The Woods—it’s the realization of a lifelong dream, as he told Collider he was such a fan of the character, he “had quotes from Daredevil painted on his wall while growing up. Even when I was 18, I still had the blood-red door with the ‘I have shown him that a man without hope is a man without fear.’” And now his parents’ probable constant unease has been justified, as Goddard will finally fulfill that intense worship in a way that, fortunately, does not involve enacting vigilante justice on the criminals of the night, at least not yet.
