Mastodon’s Brent Hinds has a background in carpentry, a skill he’s been keen on documenting through his posts on Instagram over the past couple of years. After a year with relatively few posts featuring his handiwork, the metal singer’s inspiration burst forth in the shape of a giant, veiny cock—a piece that has already been nicknamed the “Mastodong.” As evinced by his most recent photos, Hinds took to working a piece of wood until it took on a phallic shape, at which point he bore down on the shaft and worked it through to completion.
