Samantha Bee and President Obama try to define the new “birtherism”
With America’s big decision now exactly one week away, we are closer than ever to never having to utter, type, or shudder at a certain name ever again in connection to the White House (we’ll leave it up to your imagination/ideology to guess which). Despite his two-term presidency being in its waning phase, President Barack Obama is still quite invested in the democratic process. He sat down with Samantha Bee on Full Frontal last night to galvanize young voters, whom he finds more engaged than they’re perceived to be.
Bee also asked the President about his legacy, which will now include a footnote about Full Frontal’s inaugural presidential interview. They even managed to poke fun at the birther movement that’s followed President Obama since he first campaigned for the White House. The two then tried to coin a similar phrase to hound the nation’s potential first woman president. “There’s just something about her” is the female analogue that ends up at the top of the list, so maybe get ready to hear/see that shared by the same people who think “cough-prevention machines” exist.
