This NES-style Twin Peaks intro is a damn fine piece of nostalgia
Ever wanted to play along with Agent Dale Cooper as he practices the Tibetan Method or wanders the streets of Twin Peaks in search of coffee and pie? Well, you still can’t do that (although you can help him escape from the Black Lodge). But you can imagine what the intro to the planned but ultimately abandoned Twin Peaks NES game would have looked like, thanks to Portland-based pixel artists Filthy Frackers. The Frackers have rendered the show’s famous opening credits in period-appropriate NES style, creating a chiptune version of Angelo Badalamenti’s theme for good measure. Welcome To Twin Peaks points out that the result is slightly faster and shorter than the original, but it’s still a damn fine piece of early-’90s nostalgia.
