Stand-up comic Felipe Esparza is the latest star to sit in the Pick A Choice hot seat, which is not hot, but it is at least uncomfortable. Felipe is an enthusiastic player of our game, and halfway through the proceedings he starts inserting his own celebrities into the deck. He also extends the final round with an impromptu demonstration of whistling. Such irregularities are allowed and encouraged on Pick A Choice.
If you’re new to the program, here are the rules, in theory: In each round, our guest draws two cards from a deck filled with famous names (both real and fictional) and one card from a deck of scenarios. Then it’s time for our guest to decide who they’d rather pick in the given scenario. For instance, would Steven Wright or George Plimpton be a better choice to arrange your daughter’s 13th birthday party?
You can get more details about Felipe’s stand-up tour dates at his website, you can subscribe to his What’s Up Fool? podcast on iTunes, and you can watch his Netflix special, They’re Not Gonna Laugh At You, on Netflix. If your Felipe Esparza needs aren’t met after all of that, well, come back then, and we’ll see what we can do.
If you’ve missed previous installments of Pick A Choice, that’s okay, because The A.V. Club has brought them out of the Disney vault for a limited time.
