Mariah Carey will also be in Lee Daniels' The Butler, though most likely not as Gerald Ford

The last week has been a reassuring one for those who may have worried that Mariah Carey wasn't going to get a lot of money to do things anymore, and would perhaps be resigned to wandering Ventura Blvd., yelling that she once starred in Glitter while passerby suddenly became very interested in their phones. No, in fact she will get a lot of money to judge American Idol, and now she will get what we can only assume is a reasonable amount of money to co-star in Lee Daniels' The Butler, a film that tracks an African-American servant's journey through eight Presidential administrations, and which will most likely feature approximately 10 different utterances of "You're just a black man… in the White House" by star Oprah Winfrey. No word yet on who Carey will be playing, but considering the cast already includes Robin Williams and Melissa Leo as the Eisenhowers, James Marsden and Minka Kelly as the Kennedys, Liev Schreiber as LBJ, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, and Alan Rickman and Jane Fonda as the Reagans, perhaps Daniels will have Carey play Gerald Ford. Actually, that's ridiculous: Most likely he has that role set aside for her Precious co-star Lenny Kravitz. [Black Film via The Playlist]
