Perhaps inspired by the news that Affleck will be helming a solo Batman movie for Warner Bros., the publication asks Damon if he’d play Robin to his buddy’s Batfleck. Damon “laughed at the idea” of playing a teenage sidekick, but he didn’t write off the superhero genre either. “I’d consider anything with the right director,” Damon said, while also despairing of the fact that most of the most notable ones are currently being portrayed by other actors—even Aquaman’s already taken (that would have been Plan Sea).
But even though Damon was at a loss for which DC or Marvel superhero he could bring to life—his personal pick, Daredevil, is no longer an option—he knows Affleck’s the guy to help him do it: “If he (Ben) was directing me, I’d jump on it in a New York minute. I’d love to work with Ben.” The only caveat, according to Damon, is that Affleck tends to “give himself the best role” in whatever project he’s helming. He was probably just kidding, of course, but it’s possible that Affleck’s just getting payback for Damon playing the genius in Good Will Hunting.
