The final Kong: Skull Island trailer is surprisingly stylish
The people behind this trailer for Kong: Skull Island—supposedly the last one we’re going to get—must’ve been watching some Guardians Of The Galaxy teasers, because it seems significantly funnier and more stylish than the last few have been. Also, the trailer not only prominently features a classic rock song, but it does some remix tricks and times the action to coincide with the beat of the song the way Guardians trailers usually do. Unlike some of the similarly referential teasers for the Oscar-winning film Suicide Squad, though, this one feels less like it’s trying too hard and more like it’s trying to show people that this won’t be another cinematic sedative like the last King Kong movie. It’s impossible to judge a film on one good trailer, but this one definitely is surprisingly good.
Kong: Skull Island stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brie Larson. It’ll be in theaters on March 10.
