Synopsis
Re-creation of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. A Hungarian militarist (Mylong) has a daughter (Rensing) who is an ardent communist. She loves Mills, who comes from a liberal family headed by his professor-father, Hoyt. The lovers are kept apart by their politics. "The Beast" in the title is Milton, who portrays the real man who kept an iron hand on the Hungarians.
