Synopsis
The Sovereign is an absurdist multilingual (Spanish/English/Arabic) drama that engages the viewer as a spectator to societal collapse, which looms in the background of petty family dynamics during an annual national holiday called "The Sovereign". The holiday celebrations highlight the tightening grip of a totalitarian regime, the gross commodification of charity, and the public apathy and nonchalance leading to the decay of this fictional young republic.
