After three vicious and hilarious seasons, Hulu has decided to cancel its comedy series Difficult People. This comes from Deadline, which says the streaming service decided not to renew the show for a fourth season, meaning its third season finale will now have to be its series finale. Difficult People was one of Hulu’s first high-profile scripted shows, and it seemed like the streaming service’s flagship original comedy for the last few seasons. The series starred Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner as fictionalized and unsuccessful versions of themselves, with the two of them sharing a very pop culture-literate view of modern life in a low level of the entertainment industry.
With Billy On The Street’s future basically a big mystery now as well, this means there will be a dangerous shortage of Billy Eichner on our TV screens for the foreseeable future. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we can see him screaming about celebrities once again.
