The List

Anthony is an ambitious man and a go-getter! His desire is to reach the pinnacle of his career and in order to achieve this, he makes a LIST. He wants the 'full package' and won't settle for less. He is beyond certain that mediocrity is not his lot, and pursues greatness with every fibre of his being and will let nothing stand in his way of success - not even Church folks whom he is fond of or his respected spiritual father can talk him out his ambitious drive and thirst for success. To commence the list, he faces a dreaded professional examination and convinces himself that he would be among the small percentage of people to ace the test. Anthony covets a managerial position within his field at his company Arthur Anderson Ltd. and considers passing the exam to be a step toward achieving that goal. For maximum focus, he convinces himself that Church attendance, social interactions, and even prayerfulness must all be laid aside. Church folks however didn't turn a blind eye to his palpable absence and out of courtesy and love offer to constantly check up on him. In Anthony's books, this is not a welcomed gesture and so begins avoiding everyone and also instructs his wife to make up lies whenever they tried to contact him through her. This List doubtless becomes all that Anthony breathes and lives, and soon enough his wife understandably becomes concerned. She sees no other way but prayer in bringing her husband right back to his senses. Anthony continues being too busy for God until one day when he gets a reality check having had a poignant interaction with a female friend.
