Lawrence J. Cohen, Fred Freeman
Frank Dutton (Brad Garrett) is having a hard time getting back into the social scene. He divorced a year ago and is now raising his daughter while also trying to get his new business off to a good start. Being a skilled impressionist he contributes his ability to the TV commercials produced by his company, Media Of Omaha. Frank has help from his somewhat unusual friends: Dave (Thom Sharp) whose neuroses makes him difficult to deal with; Raymond (James Noble) a compulsive gambler facing bankruptcy; and Donna, an extremely naive receptionist. Frank's little daughter, Lindsay (Brandy Gold) seems to be the most well-balanced, albeit precocious, individual in his life. Adding additional problems to Mr. Dutton's struggle is the widow Mrs. Madison (Ruth Kobart), a next-door neighbor with never-ending tendencies of giving unwanted advice and "rules to live by" for both Frank and his daughter.
