Synopsis

They are nine, from Amsterdam and have an average age of just 18. But they don't really like to be reminded of that. Because their Afrobeat with jazz, Ethiopian, funk or rock flavors has not waited for the number of years to show an impressive maturity, nor does it need the label of prodigy kids to speak to the general public as well as to the most specialized aficionados. Tony Allen himself, Fela Kuti's rhythmic architect and inventor of the genre's characteristic syncopation, gave them a thumbs up at the first meeting: "they are the future of Afrobeat" he said after a stunning concert at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. And the future is on the way.
